Last year, HotelTonight ran an ad campaign with several cross stitch pieces in hoops that everyone loved! I couldn't believe these pieces were created by a very talented graphic artist in San Francisco, I've never seen anyone do this so well - and I've sure seen a lot of people try. This year, HotelTonight asked me to create PDF patterns from three of their favorite ads from the campaign--it was pretty fun to do something completely in reverse from how I usually do it. The new Mouliné Étoile floss from DMC takes away the frustration of metallic floss by combining cotton and metallic in one! The 6-strand divisible thread has a twinkly effect that adds a delicate sparkle to any design. It's impossible to capture the true sparkle of this floss, it's so much more impressive in person. Dang it. DMC added fake sparkle effects to photos on their site, but I'm not going to do that here. I'm VERY excited to announce Subversive Cross Stitch classes in Dallas at all three locations of one of our favorite shops, Emporium Pies! The classes include Pie Pop Tarts (a very special thing not usually available), mimosas, a Shut Your Piehole deluxe kit and some extra Subversive goodies thrown in, like swag PLUS pretty blue embroidery scissors!
