A Flock of Cocks

UPDATE 2020: We no longer have this pattern on our site, but you can find it HERE! I saw these on Instagram and thought it was SO CLEVER! So I worked with the creator to bring it to you as a PDF that includes all 16 of these rockin' cocks! Here's Lauren's story of how these came to be the hit of a hen party (bachelorette party), direct from Cornwall!:

The original series was made as a surprise for my sister Helen's hen party which I was organising with my other sister, Hope. The details of the hen party were a surprise, but Helen had requested no dick head boppers, inflatable men or cock drinking straws. So I stitched the original 'cocks of joy' series of badges using rooster patterns I had found on Pinterest, a range of cross stitch books or adapted those original patterns and then added the word cock underneath them because I thought it would make Helen laugh. I'd stitched a box full of cocks and each hen chose their little gift at random by lucky dip. When Julie reposted about the badges and showed interest in charting the designs I then extended the flock by developing my own cocks patterns.

In Cornish dialect calling someone a cock is actually a term of endearment, in case you were wondering. 'Tuss' is the word for an actual dick.

Other than that I Love: watching British comedies and Bob Ross reruns; I'm currently doing a children's story book writing course; everything about Stevie Wonder; being a Mumma to my little boy; cooking Algerian foods (my husband is Algerian); spending hours in haberdasheries and thrift shops; and visiting Cornish beaches with family and friends whenever possible!

So, go stitch up some cocks and use the hashtag #SUBVERSIVECROSSSTITCHCOCKFLOCK to share your work! Follow Lauren on Instagram at @rock_of_floosters to see more of her work (and her insanely cute bebeh!) Thanks, Lauren!!
