Isolation Update: Free PDF!

Are you ready for some serious fun? Here's how to put together our Isolation Update: No Pants kit, available as a free PDF, a Basic or Deluxe Kit and a Combo Kit with frame! The above kits come with everything you need so you don't have to leave the house (don't you DARE!). But if you're going to use the free PDF pattern, you will need the following supplies: Fabric, embroidery floss, needles, hoop at the very least. If you're trying to do this all free, you could probably use tape and not even frame it, but keep the extra numbers handy. These instructions will help you with the PDF or the kits of this therapeutic design! PLEASE NOTE: I initially made a larger pattern—your stitched area will look smaller than these images! 1. Since you’ll be stitching all of this on one piece of fabric, make SURE you start in the center of the fabric and work your way out. Please note that your image will be a little smaller in dimensions (I changed the pattern after stitching). Also, I know my letters are uneven—that’s okay, you’ll be cutting them! 2. Once you’re done stitching (see previous instructions on back of pattern), figure out where you will cut the numbers. Water-erase pens are a great way to do this if you’ve got one (if not, we sell ‘em). 3. Once you cut the numbers apart, be sure to dab them with a lot of water so that the blue edges from the pen disappear. Put these somewhere to dry. 4. Now, get the main design ready by popping it in a frame. I highly recommend using Stitchery Tape (available in our shop) or some kind of adhesive since you’ll be pulling numbers off of the fabric every day. I used Stitchery Tape and stuck it right on the frame back. Next, put one of the hook Velcro dots on the fabric where you’ll be sticking the numbers. Use one of the harder plastic dots, not the fuzzy ones. 5. Back to the numbers. Once they’re dry, you should start cutting the adhesive dots (the fuzzy loop ones) in half. There are two types of Velcro adhesive dots in your package. Some are hooks and some are loops. The hooks have hard plastic spikes; the loops are kind of fuzzy, that’s the difference. 6. Here’s another example. Also, If you’re worried about your cut-out numbers fraying, make a little watered-down glue and drag the edges through it. Then let them dry. I skipped this step because I kind of like the fraying. I guess it just depends on how long you think you’ll be isolated and how much wear-and-tear the numbers will endure. 7. Take the white foam core board that came in your kit and put 10 of the hook adhesive dots on it. You’re making a place to store the numbers when you’re not using them. 8. Before you start putting the adhesive dots on the back of numbers, be sure to trim away any extra floss that might show through or stick out. Also, make sure they’re dry! 9. If you’re really good, you’ll place the fuzzy loop dots you cut in half so that each number has two that form a circle on the back. But, y’know, don’t worry about it too much. The main thing is that you can use this as storage for numbers if you’d like to. 10. That’s basically it. Look at you! What a hilarious project!
