Hey Spring Chicken!

It's spring! Yeay! Only a few days until the Subversive Cross Stitch book and notecards hit stores everywhere. I hope you enjoy the book and it inspires you to stitch up your own pet phrases. Think of it as emotional spring cleaning... ahhh.

Have fun!

Free Pattern!

ah-I. ah-LOVE. ah-BUST! It always reads my mind and delivers articles on exactly what I'm interested in. It's uncanny. This month, editor Debbie Stoller wrote a nice intro and put my "Babies Suck" pattern right there on page 23! (on page 24, instructions and pattern).

This is definitely the highlight of my cross stitch career - thanks, Bust! (on newstands March 28th).

Wacky Projects!

Three days after my book is released, Tease will hit the shelves! This book, by the super-cool Sarah Sockit, includes T-shirt transformations from 50 superstars, including Amy Sedaris and Todd Oldham. I've seen a preview since I contributed a project and some editing help and I just know you'll dig it!

(be sure to check out my contributor photo, complete with red wig and blue eyeshadow - hee!)

Tease Me!

All For Stephen

If you're a fan of The Daily Show or Strangers With Candy, then surely you've seen The Colbert Report. I think Stephen's a comic genius, but this show is his best - SO subversive and full of very dry, ironic humor. So I stitched up the word he's most famous for creating: Truthiness.

Chronicle will be sending this to the show as part of their PR campaign, along with my book. Just knowing it will end up somewhere near Stephen (maybe even on the set's shelf?) makes me all warm and fuzzy. Cross your fingers!

Konky Boone

So very tie-tie... Boone's been licking all the envelopes as I ship book orders out. But he can only take so much (actually, he loves the heat from my desk lamp a little too much -- don't worry, he's okay.) This little movie was recently featured on Salon's Video Dog. Pass it on!
